The forklift is the most widely used material handling equipment in industrial production and logistics, often called the "industrial backbone." With its forks as the primary working attachment, it efficiently loads, unloads, stacks, and transports palletized goods, serving as a vital link between production lines and warehousing systems.
Based on power source, forklifts are mainly divided into internal combustion (IC) and electric models. IC forklifts (diesel, gasoline, or LPG) provide high power and long endurance, making them suitable for heavy-duty outdoor applications such as ports and construction sites. Electric forklifts, with zero emissions, low noise, and precise control, dominate indoor warehouses and environments with strict cleanliness requirements, such as food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries.
Key forklift specifications include rated capacity, load center distance, and maximum lift height. Modern forklifts feature advanced hydraulic systems and intelligent control technology, enabling smooth simultaneous travel and lifting operations. As warehouse automation advances, forklifts are evolving from simple transport machines into intelligent terminals with semi-autonomous driving and fleet management capabilities, continuously driving global supply chain efficiency.
